Looking Back on 2009 . . . Looking Forward to 2010

GARY: 2009 was my first full year of ministry in Slovenia.  It was a great year, with two people baptized, several others making a commitment to the Lord, and still others who have begun to attend church but have yet to make a commitment.  May the Lord give us more commitments in 2010!

In the capital city, I taught young people who are studying for the ministry.  Using BGMC funds, we bought many new books for the students’ library. We also funded evangelization events hosted by this same church with money from Light-for-the-Lost.

In 2010 I look forward to staying busy with preaching and teaching.  I am also planning a new leadership training ministry.  I believe 2010 will be an even greater year!

SHERYL: 2009 was a great year for building relationships outside of the church.  The Lord has enlarged my circle of unsaved friends again this year.  I know that God has plans for their salvation and I expect to see His hand at work in their lives in 2010.

Also in this past year I began to do youth and student ministries.  This was not only a new experience for me, but oh so exciting.  It has been such a joy to see young people respond favorably to the teaching of the Word and the moving of the Holy Spirit.  I look forward to seeing what God will do in their lives this next year.

Gary Jr. is 15 and is now 6’ tall.  He is part of the church’s youth group and has really enjoyed being with the young people.  In 2010 he would like to get taller than Dad!

Sara is 12.  She loves Royal Rangers International, and one of her school friends comes with her.  In 2010 she hopes to understand Mom and Dad when they tell secrets in French!

Kaye Lynn is 6 and started public school this year.  She is speaking Slovene and loves her classmates.  In 2010 she says that she wants to translate for Dad when he preaches!
