After 45 years of communist
oppression, the people of Slovenia longed to be free; however, this freedom has
brought disillusionment. Even though Slovenia is economically prosperous,
the spiritual climate is one of hopelessnes.
-
Only 800
believers in a country of 2 million
-
One of the world's highest suicide
rates
-
Widespread
alcoholism and drug abuse
-
A dramatic rise in
occultism
Since communism's 45-year grip on the
country effectively extinguished the faith of the people, we envision working
with the Slovenian Pentecostal church in
several different areas of ministry:
-
Reaching out to the young people of Slovenia,
many of whom are searching for spiritual truth
-
Encouraging the Pentecostal pastors, most of whom who are struggling to keep their church doors open
-
Establishing a training/discipleship program
for Christians who sense a call of God to ministry
-
Helping with efforts to plant new churches in
the nation
