The Maine-Anjou Traditionalist began in 2000 when five Texas Fullblood Breeders joined forces, established a game plan and committed themselves financially to promoting the merits of fullblood Maine-Anjou cattle.
Founding members include:
            J&J Farms
            H.W. McElroy Company
            H&M Farms
            K Bar K Maines
            McCulloch Cattle Company

"We believe fullbloods are the cream of Maine-Anjou" says Jerry Gibson of J&J Farms. "The breed is identified by color and the cattle have docility, growth, bone, muscle, milk, feed conversion and average daily gains.  These are the traits contributed to fullbloods."

"We are committed to getting the message out about fullbloods," H.W. McElroy says.  "We know these cattle can and do perform.  We guarantee our fullblood bulls will produce for commercial customers an additional 50 pounds at weaning, and our customers are continually telling us how well their fullblood-influenced calves do in the feedlot."

"They are the most docile easiest handling cattle that you will ever own," according to Henry McCulloch of McCulloch Cattle Company.  He also stated that Barbara, his wife "thinks they are the prettiest cattle."

"We welcome other fullblood breeders to join us and be part of what we think will be a unified and dynamic effort on behalf of these great cattle,"  McElroy says.  "We are working to ensure the future of fullblood Maines."

Each year the Traditionalist sponsors a fullblood-only show at the Ft. Worth Livestock Show. The show is sanctioned by the American Maine-Anjou Association and features fullblood Maines exclusively from across the United States and Canada.   The Traditionalist also host the Fiesta de Vacas Rojos y Blanco Fullblood Sale held in New Braunfels, Texas in May of each year.

Dues are $200 per year plus prorated advertisement fees.  To join this association of fullblood breeders, please contact:
